Therapy with Meagan

I began working as a Registered Counselling Therapist after graduating with a Master of Education in Counselling from Acadia University in 2020. My practice has prioritized working with folks who have complex and/or intergenerational trauma, experiences of sexualized violence & intimate partner violence, as well as chronic stress that can result from identity-based discrimination.

I support folks who are experiencing symptoms of adversities that may include anger, chronic stress, grief, emotional dysregulation, substance misuse, suicidal ideation and/or self-harm. Clients I typically support may also have a diagnosis of anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, personality disorders, as well as concurrent physical health issues.

I practice from an attachment based orientation where our relationships with ourselves and others are cornerstones of our well-being. I utilize Internal Family Systems and parts work with clients to increase understanding & compassion towards ourselves. I am a yoga teacher and I integrate this knowledge to support clients' abilities to move towards greater interoception (knowledge/awareness of sensations & feelings in the body).

A brief overview of my qualifications are listed below. I would love to connect with you for a no-fee consultation to see if we are a good fit to proceed with therapy. The consultation is an opportunity to learn more about my counselling background and ask any questions that you may have.

Individual counselling sessions are $180/hour. (As of June 20 2024, counselling therapy services are tax exempt.)

I provide direct billing for NIHB, Blue Cross and VAC. For other insurance providers, a client's credit card will be billed following the end of a session, and a receipt will be provided for client's to seek reimbursement for the cost of counselling sessions. Please check with your insurance provider, and confirm inclusion of Counselling Therapists and/or Canadian Certified Counsellors.

I provide a limited number of reduced fee sessions for folks who do not have insurance/other coverage for the cost of counselling sessions. Please reach out to be added to the waitlist for reduced fee counselling sessions.
